Dr. Christopher Burn, Past-President of the International Permafrost Association (IPA), has been appointed as a member of the Climate and Cryosphere (CliC) Core Project Scientific Steering Group (SSG).
This appointment was unanimously endorsed by the Joint Scientific Committee (JSC) of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) during its forty-sixth Session in May 2025. The CliC is a core project of the World Climate Research Program. CliC encourages and promotes research into the cryosphere and its interactions with the global climate system. Dr. Burn’s term will begin on 1 January 2026 and run through 31 December 2029.
