It is a locus of human activity, a rich band of biodiversity, critical habitat, and high productivity, and among the most dynamic components of the circumpolar landscape. This report grew from a recommendation by the Workshop on Arctic Coastal Zones at Risk in 2007 and is available for download at http://arcticcoasts.org

This handbook is intended as a field handbook to be used during both planning and conduct of periglacial field research. Its prime purpose is to contain useful information for efficient fieldwork and by this, act as an aide memoire and a source of inspiration.
