VIII Iberian Conference on Permafrost (CIP2025) in Salardú (Val d’Aran, Catalonia, Spain)

From June 26 to 28, 2025, the VIII Iberian Conference on Permafrost (CIP2025) was held in Salardú (Val d’Aran, Catalonia), marking the return of this important scientific gathering since its last edition in 2019. The event brought together around 40 researchers from the Iberian Peninsula and abroad, highlighting the international scope of the meeting. Organized by the ANTALP research group of the University of Barcelona, the conference featured keynote lectures, oral presentations, a poster session, and a field excursion.

Field Excursion in the Aran Valley: The field trip through the Aran Valley, guided by both local and international experts, allowed participants to directly observe glacial and periglacial processes characteristic of the region. This hands-on experience was a key component of the scientific program of CIP2025, fostering discussion and exchange of knowledge in the field of permafrost and mountain geomorphology.
